The Robot

So lately I've been really into watching "America's Best Dance Crew." My favorite move of all time is the robot, and here is some extremely talented kids doing it...

Unexpected Visitors!

These last two weeks I've been able to see some loved ones I haven't seen in a really long time.

1) My cousin Melissa was here for a conference with Ten Thousand Villages and I was able to hang out with her and Bethany two nights in a row and catch up. She was feeling pretty crummy the second night so we ended up just ordering Thai food in and relaxing in her hotel room. I hadn't seen her in 1.5 years so it was long overdue.

2) Our friend Milk from Thailand just finished her discipleship training school with YWAM, and spent the last week here staying with us in Chicago. We had a really good time hearing about her trip, speaking thai again, and eating lots of thai food. I took her to the airport today to catch her flight back home to Chiang Mai, Thailand.

3) Jeremy and Pa'lee Showalter and their daughter Shiloh were in town on business and we had dinner together with Lynette, Bethany, and Kristin. It was good to catch up with one another over some delicious thai food and finally get to meet little Shiloh who is adorable.

So many things to be thankful for these days.

Elaine's 26th Birthday

I went to Seattle the other weekend short notice when Elaine and Rachel insisted on helping me purchase an affordable last minute ticket. The main reason I went for was to be there to celebrate Elaine's birthday at which was going to be wine tasting as well as an intense one hour yoga session, led by a certified instructor. I had so much fun in Seattle, and even though it was short, the trip was worth it. Elaine decided that the one thing she really wanted to do on her birthday was to kill a live crab and eat him for dinner. So her husband Ryan brought home three live crabs which we played with for an hour before dropping them into their doom of boiling hot water. So today in group therapy we were supposed to go around and share about our favorite age. Everyone was saying pretty normal ages like 17-19 where they had few responsibilities and life was so much more carefree until It got to be one woman's turn who is 35 years old and she replied, "My favorite age was 0 when I was coming down the birth canal out of my mothers womb. My first month of life was my favorite." And there was that.
